Project Overview
CG Paving Company recently completed this impressive granite driveway in Wigan, transforming the frontage of a property in Haigh using premium Marshalls granite paving.
Before work began, the frontage consisted of an existing red and brown block paved driveway alongside a substantial grassed front garden.
Although the property already had off-road parking, the layout meant a large part of the available frontage wasn’t being used for vehicles. The new design allowed CG Paving Company to dramatically increase the usable parking area while completely modernising the entrance to the property.
The existing driveway was removed and the former lawn incorporated into the new layout, creating a much larger and more practical driveway across the front of the house.

For this project, CG Paving Company installed a full concrete base to provide a strong and stable foundation capable of handling regular vehicle traffic.
The Marshalls granite paving blocks were individually primed before laying, helping create a secure bond and providing the correct preparation for a long-lasting installation.
The driveway was finished using premium Marshalls granite paving in a contemporary grey finish.
The lighter granite complements the traditional red brick property particularly well, while a double contrasting dark border creates definition around the driveway, garage, property entrance and landscaped areas.
Careful changes in direction within the border design allow it to follow the shape of the building and frontage, giving the finished installation a bespoke appearance rather than simply creating one large expanse of paving.
One of the standout features of the project is the double contrasting border surrounding the main granite driveway.
This darker detailing creates a sharp, high-end finish and clearly defines the different areas of the driveway.
Discreet inset lighting has also been incorporated within sections of the border, adding another premium detail to the completed design.
Once the granite paving had been installed, the driveway was completed using Flowpoint jointing.
This provides a strong, durable joint between the paving while helping achieve the clean and consistent finish required for a premium granite installation.
Combined with the full concrete base, primed paving and careful installation, the result is a substantial driveway designed for long-term everyday use.
